Lavendula angustifolia 'Big Time Blue'
Home / Our Plants / Lavender, English Lavender
Details
We were truly impressed by how vigorous and attractive Lavender 'Big Time Blue' was in our trial gardens for the last 2 years. With long stiff stems and a profusion big blue flowers, this one reminds us of the pictures you see of the lavender fields in Provence France! Attracts butterflies. Dried flowers and leaves of Lavender are prized for potpourri, scented oils and crafts. Has proven hardy in our trials, but be aware that perennial lavenders tend to die out after a few years. Well drained soil is essential to surviving winter.
Growing Tips
Lavenders are notoriously tough to overwinter in our area. Good drainage is essential. Only a handful of varieties have a chance at surviving around here, this is one of them.
